Brrm brrm!

The plane fans on my f'list might enjoy this one too - a German chap has built a V12 model aircraft engine. And a lovely noise it makes too. Youtube video on the page. Sounds like a bonsai Spitfire!

V12 model aircraft engine

I can't get enough of the sound of the thing. You'll either understand this, or think me strange. I don't care! ;-)

Merlins are the only engines I've ever liked the sound of. I get it :)

Better start saving for one of these, then. Wow.

Mmmmm.

Nudge me next time there's an airshow at Duxford :)

That radial in the second video looked interesting too.

Oo. Does that mean what I think it does?

Depends what you think it means :)

Here are md5sums of three things I think it might mean, in descending order of me being able to pull it off: dbf31344b094cd9449629c153700b56a, 3fd1dd850f26486cdf4f2e099ce06eca, 007a5a35a0c218556de472b9fe0ba69a -- tell me what you think it means and I'll tell you (a) if I guessed correctly and (b) whether there's a chance I can arrange it :)

My guess was something along the lines of "Really quite a close look at a Hurricane" (it is a Hurricane for which you are ground crew, is it not?) But now I am curious as to what your other two guesses were. :-)

That I certainly ought to be able to do, assuming ours is there. (It's not based at Duxford.) And yes, it is a Hurricane I get to look after.

I hadn't actually thought of that!

The ones I had thought of were getting you in cheap, flying you there and getting you a ride in a Spitfire. The first is certainly doable, the second possibly, and you'll have to wait (behind me, natch) in a very very long line for the third :)

Coo, thanks! There is a slight hitch with the Hurricane-viewing, though, which is that I think my dad would never forgive me if I saw it without him... ;-)
(I bought him the Haynes Manual for the Spitfire for xmas - that went down well...)
