I'm not half the man I used to be.

I have been musing this evening, and I think I'm coming to the conclusion that my character has changed. I'm not sure when this started happening, and I'm still trying to put my finger on what has changed. I do know that, although I'm still occasionally skirting the shores of melancholy, I am mostly happier now than I have been for a long time, job angst notwithstanding. I think I am more comfortable with people than I used to be, too (that is, participating in conversations more, not being too silent around new people). And a far cry (pun unintended) from the moods I used to get into while at Oxford, particularly later on.

Any other suggestions or things people have noticed gratefully received in comments, email, whatever. For those who haven't known me for long - first impressions? :-)
