Indeed, living in Herne Hill (South London), and working in Ealing (West London), at the same place I started at a week after I left Lincoln (though a different job, natch). Whereabouts are you nowadays?

I know David from the Nethack newsgroup rec.games.roguelike.nethack ... or more precisely from drinking beer at bi-monthly London meets of that newsgroup (which he started)!

I take it you know him due to Chiark...?

Indeed - and got sucked into Chiark through chiarkers who originated in Oxford...
I am based in Summertown, and also still working at my first place of work since leaving Lincoln - only it took me 2 years and a computing MSc before I started there. Said place is the OII
