Went out for a pootle on the Enfield today - which is still as fun as ever, though I am longing for the day that running-in is over and I can ride it properly rather than gingerly. I'm at 450km, though, so only 50km until my halfway-through-running-in service.

I went out to have a quick look at the airshow that's on in Abingdon this weekend. While I'm not much of a plane aficionado (though I reckon I recognise an F-14 and AWACS in there ;-)), it was impressive nonetheless.

I took some photos. Particularly pleased with the explosion, though it was more luck than skill ;-)

Well done on the photos. Too bad I was in Germany last weekend or I would have gone to the Duxford airshow.

I hope the explosion was planned rather than an accident! o_O

Never ever say something like that. ;o)

Actually, I take that back. I wouldn't have wanted to miss Germany, not even for the best airshow ever. :o)

You know, so would I. I do miss the place. :-)

To be honest, the location was far less important than the person I went to meet. :o)

The thought had crossed my mind. ;)

Definitely an AWACS, though if you're referring to the swing-winger, that's a Tornado rather than an F-14. The US Navy retired their last F-14 a couple of years back.

If WW2-era warbirds are your thing, that wasn't the best airshow ever by a loong way. You want Flying Legends this July 7th and 8th at Duxford.

For a wider variety of stuff, the airshows on the 8th & 9th of September and the 14th October are unlikely to disappoint!

Damn, the July one will be during my annual visit with my parents but the september one looks good. Thanks!
