I don't really remember. Could have been 10p initially, I think I remember 20p later but I might be making it up. Emily had braces so had grown-up teeth out and several at a time so I think got at least 50p and possibly a pound on one occasion. I don't think I ever got as much as 50p for a tooth, but could be misremembering that too.
When my first teeth fell out, I think I got 5p rather than 10p. But that was 1978.
Edit: for strict accuracy, I knocked out the first 3 or 4. I think only 4 of my milk teeth came out by themselves, and I got no money at all for the one I pulled out on purpose. [Don't ask. Really.]
50p on average - I had several tooth extractions as a young teenager, including one from the roof of my mouth (believe it or not, my mouth was too small for a full complement of teeth) so some payments were bigger than others!
